Rambutans... they're quite an interesting fruit. Whenever my aunts would bring them to a family gathering or at Chinese New Year, I thought they were very pretty, but also freaky-looking fruits. Their insides are quite a contrast from the decorative and vibrant colors of their peel. Because of their roundness and how shiny/membraney their fruit flesh is, it reminded me of eyeballs. I wanted to recreate this fruit but instead of fruit flesh inside of them, it would be eyeballs.
